- Lathe frame has machines surfaces underneath the linear bed ways and "Turcite" underneath the "tailstock base." The "tailstock base" has gibs, way wipers and an automatic lube pump.
|
- 1-speed headstock has a 2" spindle with a D-8 spindle nose and bearings for 3,000 RPM capability.
|
- Rack and pinion motorized "tailstock base" with 62" of travel and hydraulic locking.

- C3 call screws for X and Z axes

- One large access door (700mm wide minimum) on rear splashguard with gasket and nuts and bolts spot welded to rear splashguard.

- 460v motor on "tailstock base"

- Headstock with ratio of 1- 0.93 from headstock pulley to spindle nose with up to 300mm diameter pulley on input shaft.

Electrical Box |
- Rear cable carrier will be attached to the rear of the cross-slide and go up to the top of the rear splashguard and run along the top of the rear splashguard into the top of the electrical cabinet.

- Empty electrical cabinet in back of machine is 1220mm wide x 1525mm high x 460mm deep (approx.).
|
- Included are a main disconnect switch, transformer and the frame is pre-wired
to the E-box.

- "Kitagawa" hydraulic rotary actuator mounted to the spindle with
1" diameter solid drawbar.

- Hydraulic system for "Kitagawa" actuator and "tailstock base" locking.
|
- The thread on the "Kitagawa" drawbar will be male thread. 1" x 8TPI and will be 38mm long. The overall length of the drawbar will be such that wen the drawbar is in the fully extended position (toward tailstock), the end of the drawbar will still be 19mm inside of the front face of the spindle nose taper.

This CNC ready lathe frame has been designed and constructed using the latest technology and built from the highest quality of materials and components. The rigid construction of the bed with linear ways is hardened to over 50Rc and precision ground, providing for turning with high accuracy and high feed rates. The main spindle is supported by preloaded, high precision bearings that ensure consistent and accurate turning throughout the entire speed range. The headstock spindle, shaft, and gears are made from alloy steel, hardened and then ground, which allows for higher turning speeds at lower sound levels. High precision ball screws are mounted in precision bearings, which ensure long life, superior cutting performance and great accuracy. This CNC ready lathe frame is designed with a full-length rear splash guard with access panel and front moving chip guards (front sliding doors) with observation windows in order to provide a safe, clean work area. This 2280 lathe frame’s machined linear ways provide for high feed rates and great accuracy in many turning applications. “Turcite” coats many surfaces of this 2280 CNC ready lathe frame in order to provide for smooth and accurate travels. |

| This lathe frame has a 1-speed headstock and a 2 inch, D-8 spindle nose with bearings for 3,000RPM capability. A rack and pinion motorized “tailstock base” with 62” of travel and hydraulic locking is provided, as well as a manually operated tailstock, spindle test bar, bed type test fixture, C3 ball screws for the X and Z axes, and a “Kitagawa” hydraulic rotary actuator mounted to the spindle with a 1” diameter solid drawbar. This CNC ready lathe frame is pre-wired to an empty electrical panel. Limit-switches, dogs, and cable carriers are provided for an easy retrofit of CNC controls, servo motors, and rotary encoders. This one time offer, although very specific, may allow the right customer to create a superior quality CNC lathe for an unbeatably low investment. |
